Introduction
In 1910 a paddle steamer called the Emeraude was offering unforgettable cruises in Halong Bay for visitors to what was then French Indochina. The Emeraude was part of a flotilla owned by the Roque family who had left Bordeaux in 1858 in search of adventure and fortune. Over a period of more than 50 years they found both. After several ups and downs including successful trading and timber businesses, near bankruptcy and being taken hostage by pirates, the Roque brothers built Emeraude, Perle, Saphir, Rubis and Onyx to ferry passengers and freight along the waterways of Indochina and cruise on magnificent Halong Bay. Today the Emeraude offers a regular cruise service on board a luxurious replicasteamer with 39 cabins meticulously designed to evoke the nostalgic charm of colonial Indochina.

ITINERARY:

EMERAUDE CLASSIC CRUISE 2 DAY - 1 NIGHT PROGRAM

Day 1 : Hanoi - Halong
+ 8.30AM: Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi and depart for Halong Bay - the World Heritage Site on a comfortable 3 and a half hour drive by private vehicle passing the nice countryside of the Red River Delta. As scheduled, there will be a short stop in the mid way to relax. On the way, you may want to have some more stops for taking photo of the local daily life on the rice-fields, etc...

+ 11.30AM -12.00PM: Check-in at the Emeraude Cafe in Halong City
Enjoy a refreshing “Welcome Cocktail” upon check-in on the sun deck
Cruise commences and the lavish buffet lunch served at the restaurant
Visit by Tender to see the Sung Sot Caves (Cave of Surprises) weather permitting
Option of Kayaking or Swimming near Hang Trong anchorage
Vietnamese cuisine demonstration at the sun deck
Complimentary canapés at the sun deck bar
Scrumptious International Buffet Dinner served at the restaurant
Evening Movie show at the sun deck

Day 2 Halong - Hanoi
Wake up the next morning at sunrise, practice Tai Chi on the sundeck, feel the early morning salt water scent; bask in the early sun rising from behind the mountains. After an energizing western breakfast, check out at around 09:30AM at Emeraude Café, savoring a most memorable trip to Halong onboard historical Emeraude. Pick up and transfer back to Hanoi.
